Types of Residential Property Surveys in North Georgia

1. Boundary Retracement – Location of property corners, property lines and documentation provided to show what is owned (AKA Plat)
2. Property Line Staking – Locate and mark Property Lines every 50 to 100 ft or line of site
3. Combination Survey – Location of property corners, property lines and documentation provided to show the parcels that were combined and what is owned (AKA Plat)

*A couple in Dawsonville skipped the survey because they thought it was unnecessary for the price and built a fence on what they thought was their line. A neighbor’s survey proved them wrong—three feet over. Legal fees: $12,000+ They had to move the fence and pay damages.
